Kim Jones Returns With His Own Label

British designer Kim Jones has announced that he is bringing back a label under his own name. After leading menswear at Louis Vuitton and Dior, and womenswear and couture at Fendi, he is preparing an independent brand for autumn/winter 2027. Vanity Fair Italia reported the news from his Instagram launch posts; Business of Fashion and Vogue have since filled in the commercial detail.

A familiar name, a new chapter

This is not Jones’s first time with an eponymous line. He ran a Kim Jones label from 2003 to 2008 before closing it when he joined Dunhill. The new venture is framed as a revival rather than a start-up. In a Business of Fashion interview he said the offer will be rooted in menswear and tailoring, yet designed as a genderless, versatile wardrobe “unrestricted by traditional categories”, with room later for lifestyle and interiors. His longtime design director Lucy Beeden is joining him; the pair keep a majority stake alongside an undisclosed investor.

Apparel will be made mainly in Japan, with leather goods produced in Italy — a split that echoes the craft focus readers of jewellery know well when they choose a classic men’s ring or everyday bracelets.

Hong Kong first, then Asia

The collection is due online at kimjones.com in mid-2027, sold direct to the customer rather than through the fashion-week show circuit at launch. The first store, roughly 4,000 square feet over two levels, is planned for October 2027 at Central Yards in Hong Kong, a new harbourfront development beside the IFC mall. Further Asian shops and selected retail partners are expected to follow. Vogue notes Jones’s long personal tie to Asia, which shaped collaborations during his house years; he has previously called the region “the future”.

For a jewellery shopper, the story is a reminder that craft and cut still lead: whether the next piece is a sharp pair of earrings or a simple pendant necklace, the best wardrobe pieces are the ones built to last.
