Pedro and Lux Pascal Share the Red Carpet in London

The BFI London Film Festival delivered one of its warmest red carpet moments of the year on Tuesday 13 October, when Pedro Pascal arrived at the Royal Festival Hall for the gala screening of his new film Behemoth! with his younger sister, the actor and model Lux Pascal, at his side. Photographers caught the pair laughing and hugging as they posed together, and the images quickly became some of the most shared of the festival.

A quietly coordinated pair

Lux, 34, chose a long-sleeved red Chanel dress in a deep burgundy tone, while Pedro, 51, went for relaxed tailoring: a yellow and blue striped shirt, light grey trousers and a tan blazer worn over his shoulders. Vanity Fair Italia spotted a subtle link between the two looks, noting that his belt picked up the colour of her dress. The Hollywood Reporter added that Lux’s appearance was a surprise, and that Pedro kept his own press on the carpet to a minimum.

It is far from the first time the siblings have shared a premiere. Lux joined her brother at the launch of Gladiator II in 2024, and last year she and their older sister, Javiera Balmaceda, accompanied him to the premiere of The Fantastic Four. Pedro has been an outspoken supporter of his sister since she came out as a transgender woman in 2021.

Learning the cello for Behemoth!

Written and directed by Tony Gilroy, the film casts Pascal as Alex Serian, a gifted cellist who returns home to Los Angeles after two decades away and is drawn back into the world of studio orchestras that record film scores. Olivia Wilde, Will Arnett, Hank Azaria and Eva Victor are among the co-stars. Speaking at the screening, Pascal admitted that no role had ever frightened him so much, because he had to learn to play the instrument convincingly. On Gilroy’s advice he carried the cello everywhere, from the gym to everyday errands, and compared the process to starting a relationship. The film opens in US cinemas on 4 December.

Borrowing the burgundy mood

Lux’s rich red is a lovely cue for autumn evenings. Deep red stones echo it beautifully: try garnet earrings or a pair from our ruby earrings with a dark dress, or let a single piece from our ruby pendants sit at the neckline. For something more relaxed, in the spirit of Pedro’s easy tailoring, a stack of bracelets adds polish without trying too hard.
