Canada Goose Shows Its City Side in Milan

Canada Goose is best known for serious parkas built for sub-zero temperatures and polar expeditions. But do you really need an Arctic forecast to wear one? That was the question behind a styling evening the brand hosted with Vanity Fair Italia on 15 October at its Milan boutique, where guests were shown how outdoor pieces can work in an everyday city wardrobe.

Five looks on Corso Matteotti

The setting was the Canada Goose store at Corso Matteotti 18, which opened around a year ago and was designed as a meeting point between Canada and Milan, with artworks and interiors finished in traditional Milanese terrazzo. After a welcome cocktail, stylist Chiara Totire walked guests through the label’s story, from its beginnings in Toronto in 1957, when Sam Tick founded the company then called Metro Sportswear, to the appointment of Haider Ackermann as its first ever creative director in 2024.

She then put together five women’s outfits to show how far the same outerwear can stretch. One leaned androgynous, with a strong workwear feel suited to city life. Another played with bright colour, stripes and pattern, layering an apparently simple jacket into something far more eclectic. A third mixed sporty pieces with softer, more feminine details, while the last two explored light and dark tonal dressing with relaxed volumes, plus a casual look close to streetwear, where accessories and colour took the lead. Guests were invited to join in, suggesting swaps, a different knit here, other trousers there, which proved how one garment can suit very different personalities.

Second Nature for autumn/winter

The new autumn/winter 2026 collection, developed under Ackermann, gave plenty to work with. It sits within a project called Second Nature, part of the brand’s wider Natural Intelligence platform, and adds colour-block fleece, knitwear, tartan prints, nostalgic graphics and a collegiate palette to the familiar down coats. Lighter jackets for the in-between seasons also make room for experimenting with layers, fabrics and shapes. The idea, as Vanity Fair Italia puts it, is a personal relationship with the seasons, where small changes such as a different skirt or one new accessory can transform an outfit.

It is an easy lesson to borrow. A practical crossbody bag or a smart backpack keeps hands free over a bulky coat, and there are men’s crossbody bags too. Against puffer jackets and tartan, warm-toned garnet pendants, bold earrings and stacked bracelets bring a personal finish to winter layers.
