Leopard print is having another moment, and Kim Kardashian made sure Rome noticed. On Saturday 24 October she arrived at the Auditorium Parco della Musica for the world premiere of the second season of All’s Fair, the Ryan Murphy legal drama in which she plays the divorce lawyer Allura Grant. The screening was one of the final big nights of the Rome Film Festival, and she was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Niecy Nash-Betts, as well as her mother, Kris Jenner, who is an executive producer on the series.
An archive gown with feline attitude
Styled by Law Roach, Kardashian chose an archival Yves Saint Laurent leopard-print gown with a strapless, corset-style bodice and a figure-hugging mermaid line, worn with black heels. A sheer chiffon scarf completed the look: she draped it over her shoulders and, at times, over her head, which gave the outfit a touch of old-fashioned Italian film glamour.
Vanity Fair Italia focused on the beauty side. Her hair was pulled into a sleek, very high ponytail, partly hidden under the scarf. The base was flawless and carefully contoured, the skin almost translucent with a soft glow, and the eyes were smoked out in warm browns to echo the print of the dress. Lips were defined with liner and lipstick in her familiar way. The result was polished Hollywood glamour, matched closely to the clothes rather than competing with them.
The wider red carpet mood
Around her, the evening’s beauty looks leaned towards autumn warmth. Vanity Fair Italia noted terracotta tones on cheeks, eyes or lips for several guests, including Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Kris Jenner, deep oxblood nails, and the return of classic red lipstick on the red carpet. Glossy waves, soft bobs and relaxed low ponytails appeared alongside the more dramatic styles.
The new season of All’s Fair starts on 4 November, on Disney+ internationally and on Hulu in the United States. Speaking to the Italian news agency ANSA, Kardashian said she liked the series’ central idea that women fight for one another.
